People who have bought a Wii console would be using that to load on new games which keep on hitting the market every now and then. There are also roms that are available which you can download for free and get the latest games on these roms.

First let me explain what a rom is as you will keep hearing the term rom every now and then. Rom put in simple words is a name for the data which is on a CD or game cart. You can download these roms and can save money on the expensive games. Getting your hands on a Wii itself is very challenging and it takes effort and time to locate a wii retailer location. Even if you go online there is a huge waiting list at every online retailer. That means you will have to buy either in an online auction or buy a steep price which usually means buying the games and the console in a bundle.

The next step once you have bought the console is to get a few games to play and some games you would have bought but almost every other day you a new game in the market and for that there are inexpensive options available in terms of roms.

These roms need to work but as such the Wii will not accept the new games as they are not the original games. So what you need to do is have that Wii console taken apart and then put in a new chip inside it. These chips are Wiid, Cyclowiz, DC2key and several others which keep on coming every now and then. These chips are then soldered inside the wii console to enable the console to read the rom properly.

A note of caution is that once you have modified the console to put in a new chip the warranty is no longer valid on the console. Also these roms and downloading is not legal as far as copyright is concerned. So be pretty sure that this is what you would want to do.
There are a few technical things that will be needed so downloading rom is not the only thing you need to be expert at some technical stuff yourself or at least reading through the maze of technical stuff available online.

The roms is the most hotly searched item on the internet right now and correctly so. Who will not like to have a free wii game or games and you would never ever have to bother buying a wii again.

By: John Border

About the Author:

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is the latest among the power gaming consoles out in the market today. And because the new game console provides a more than normal playing experience, a number of individuals, groups and even companies have started the buzz or talks regarding the possible development of different types of emulators to allow them to play Xbox 360 in various platforms.

Basically, an emulator can either be a software emulator which enables the computer system to work on a totally different software program from the one which was originally installed. On the other hand, the hardware emulator comes in the form of a hardware device and is designed for multi platform operations.

Earlier in March this year, reports came out that Nintendo Entertainment System or NES has released an emulator system dedicated for the Xbox 360. By making their own emulators, NES is able to allow the user to take the ROMs of most NES games and put them in the newer Xbox 360.

The use of console emulators began in the mid-90s. Console emulators were used to then to repackage and reissue their older games on newer versions of their game consoles. An example of which is the repackaging of their games for the Nintendo Wii which will allow for emulation of NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and TurboGrafx-16 games.

However, there’s still a huge issue regarding the development of emulator programs and hardware. Since other game platforms are created by companies that are more or less competing in the same business, no single company will give the rights to its competitor to create emulators that will allow their games to run on the competitor’s game console.

Xbox 360 was originally created by Microsoft with the collaboration of companies like IBM, ATI, Samsung and SiS. The Xbox 360 was meant to replace the older Xbox game console which was also a product of Microsoft. Microsoft and its partners aimed to further improve the potential and capabilities of the Xbox by releasing the Xbox 360.

The new game console promised to give the best level of gaming experience unavailable from the older Xbox as well as from other brands and/or game console competition. It was proven to be such a popular game console. Since its release, millions of units have been sold not only across the country but all over the globe.

The Xbox 360 was created in such a way that the game consul is compatible with most of the Xbox’s previously published games, especially the top selling ones. The 360 is backwards compatible so it doesn’t actually need an emulator for older Xbox games.

Some consider emulators, either software or hardware, as illegal since they programs and hardware are used to change the games on a computer and can be modified to allow one to play pirated games. The Xbox 360 has a software emulator which allows them to play only original Xbox games since the creators of the game only licensed the hardware in the original Xbox.

Theoretically, however, one can emulate anything in an Xbox except for PS2 and Gamecube. Several emulators are already available for consoles I’ve never heard of. Other popular consoles already have their own working emulators. Basically, you’ll need an emulator and ROMs to be able to emulate in your Xbox. ROM is basically a game in a format that can be read and used by an emulator.

By: Jason Hobbs

About the Author:

As the years slip away, video games companies continuously give us new games to look forward to. But what if we want to play an older game? Unfortunately, consoles do not last forever and as we get older it seems that we simply lose the ability to play the games that entertained us as children (this statement ignores the Wii’s Virtual Console, of course). However, emulators provide a solution to the problem… Project 64 roms give us the ability to replay full Nintendo 64 games. Read on to learn more.

What are Emulators?

Emulators are light-weight programs that act as functional substitutions for gaming consoles. They not only allow you to play existing video games, but also hack games to create new levels, challenges, etc. Emulators are mostly used for older consoles, such as the NES or the SEGA Genesis, but can used for newer consoles (though they are generally in serious need of improvement).

How do Emulators Work?

Basically all you need to know (unless you want to make your own emulator) is that the emulator program is able to open files known as ROMs or ISOs. ROMs are images of games that originally used cartridges (SNES, N64, etc.), and ISOs are images of games that were originally on discs (PS, Dreamcast, etc.). However, one emulator cannot play all ROMs or ISOs. To play a SNES ROM, you need an emulator that acts as a SNES. To play a PS ISO, you need a PS Emulator. To play 64 roms, you need an emulator like Project 64. Make sense? Good.

What are the Benefits to Using an Emulator?

Emulators allow you to enjoy a seemingly infinite number of games free-of-charge on your own computer, they take up a very insignificant amount of space on your hard drive (unless you’re using an emulator for a new console), and they allow you to save your game whenever and wherever you see fit. I (Xalo) own the original Chrono Trigger for the SNES. However, I imagine many of you guys grew up with an N64 or even a later console, completely missing out on a legendary game. Once a console has lived out its lifespan and the only alternative is to buy it again to play on another console (which will again be replaced in about 3-5 years), what are you supposed to do? Emulators offer the only solution for gamers who just want to relive the classics they grew up with.

So They’re Perfect, Right?

Well, nothing is perfect. The ESA has made it illegal (and often times impossible) to download some ROMs, making it difficult to find the game you’re looking for. They make it illegal on the grounds that the Wii’s Virtual Console is designed to let you relive your childhood by selling you yesterday’s technology at today’s prices. Also, many download sites look a little sketchy and should not be trusted immediately. Oftentimes the companies that made these original games are no longer in existence and are definitely not making any more money from sales of the game itself. So, buy the game on virtual console if you wish, but we prefer the comfort of our computers. There’s nothing quite like the ability to save your state at any point in the game with a Project 64 rom. Also, if you don’t want to get frustrated or have your hands burst in flames, we recommend you purchase a USB controller. They are around $10-$15 new but are definitely worth it if you plan on playing any fighting games (see Street Fighter).

So Which Emulators Should I Download?

We recommend the following emulators:

+ RockNESX – NES emulator

+ ZNES – SNES emulator

+ Visual Boy – Advance, GB, GBC, and GBA emulator

+ Project64 – N64 emulator

epsxe – PSX emulator

By: Jirnik Hylian

About the Author:

A PSP ROM is basically a copy of a game that can be downloaded from the Internet to your computer and then transferred to the memory stick to be played on your PSP. To play these games you must have the correct firmware, it usually means downgrading your PSP. You should be looking for firmware version 1.5, but don’t worry I have found a place that not only has literally hundreds of ROMS for you to download but also all the information on downgrading your firmware. It even has step by step guides to help you all the way.

By the way if you want to find out what firmware version your PSP is running just turn on the PSP, go to settings> system settings>system information click X and you will get a message “system software version” 1.0 1.5 1.51 or 1.52.

As you know Sony decided to release games for it PSP using UMD or Universal Media Disc, which can store up to 1.8GB of various media types including, games, music and video. Sony has no intention of releasing UMD readers/writers to the general public. So in theory UMD’s are non re-writable.

There are also a lot of PSP games by unlicensed developers and game demos freely available on the Internet but you must be careful where you down from.

You will be surprised installing PSP ROMS is actually a lot easy than you might think. A lot of the time is a simple process of drag and drop. As long as you put everything in the correct folder you will be OK.

First of plug your PSP in to your computer using your USB cable. Turn on your PSP and find your way to Settings > USB connection and press X. You will find that your computer will automatically finds the PSP. Go to my computer > removable disc (usually drive F:). You will now be browsing the contents of your memory stick. You will see a folder called PSP open this up and create a folder called GAME. Remember you will need to create a new folder for each ROM you use.

By: Andrew Seaford

About the Author:

Are you looking for free downloadable playstation roms? First you may want to know a little bit more about roms. A ROM is a copy of the chip found in games that can be made into a file and read by computers. ROMS exist for nearly every game that has ever been made. There are tons of ROMs and there are several places you can find them. There are some things you should be aware of though.

First, if you are looking for free downloadable playstation roms then you want to make sure the sites you are downloading from are legal. Several download sites have been known to have spyware and viruses on them. There is also the problem of illegal downloads. Everyone has probably heard of bootleg movies. Downloading free roms may be like this in a way.

There are some alternatives to getting spyware and risking illegal downloading. There are perfectly legal and legitimate sites available where you can download psp games. These sites are well kept and easy to use and have millions of files available for download. The only thing you would be responsible for is a one time membership fee to get started.

This is a very small amount considering what could happen if you get caught downloading hundreds of illegal files or if a file you download has a virus on it and ends up ruining your computer. It is highly recommended to use a legal download site and they are often much easier to use and you know your computer will be safe. There are free downloadable playstation roms available, however you may just want to consider paying a one time fee and getting unlimited downloads of games.

By: Bry Supknowl

About the Author:

Have you ever thought that games are getting way to expensive, and there is no end in sight? Or the fact that shipping costs and gas costs are increasing as well, with no stop of them either. There is a way to save yourself some money and time and that is to download your games. When you download the games, you can do it over your PC and then just transfer them to your PSP to play them. Depending on your modem speed you could have a game downloaded and playing it within fifteen minutes. The only thing you need to look out for is your memory stick capacity.

Most games are around 500 MBs in size. Games aren’t the only thing you can download onto your PSP, you can also download movies and music to make your PSP a more well rounded multimedia handheld. Along with PSP games you can also download ROMs from other formats, such as, the NES, SNES, Gameboy, GBA and the Sega Genesis. For Example, if you had a 2 GB memory stick you could have the entire NES library, 2 PSP games, a Movie and about 50 songs. If you don’t have room on your PSP, you can always hold the games and movies on your PC and just switch them out with the USB Cord.

The navigation system is a simple point and click method that will make things easy for you. And for the price of one PSP game you can have unlimited downloads of the PSP games, the ROMs, movies and music. It would be like going to a video game store and buying a game, and once you are done with that game, just go back and grab whatever games, DVDs, and CDs you want for free, with no questions asked.

Enjoy!!

By: Michael Bender

About the Author:

Download Wii roms can be the thing that separates the happy Wii owners from the sad ones. A rom is another name for the data contained on a CD or game cart, and downloading them can be a great way to save money on expensive game purchases. If you’d like to save some money by downloading your games, check out the rest of this article.

If you’re a Wii owner you’re already in a pretty exclusive club-as the most popular of the new generation of consoles, getting your hands on one these days can be pretty tough. If you are lucky enough to own one, and you’d like to download Wii roms, you’ll need to pay attention to a few things first:

1-Do you want to download Wii Roms bad enough to let someone take your Wii apart and re-solder new chips and things inside it? That’s exactly what they will need to do. The Wii is locked up pretty tight inside, and the only way to force it to give you access to the copied Roms is by getting some kind of Mod chip fitted. Popular ones are Wiid, Cyclowiz, DC2Key, and a few others, but to be honest new ones are springing up all the time. There would seem to be more people looking to download Wii roms than you may think.

2-Ask yourself why you want to download Wii roms. If you are just looking to download Wii roms that you already own the original of, that’s fine, as some people like to have backups in case anything happens to the originals. If you are just looking to download the latest games to avoid paying for them, be careful. It can be done, but it’s against the law, and modded Wiis are not as reliable as the vanilla ones, and best of all, the Mod chip will render your warranty completely invalid.

3-If you are really sure that you want to download Wii roms, for whatever reason, you better be ready to become an expert. There is a mountain of advice online, so you’d better get used to reading through it. There are tons of different compatibility issues with all the different modchips, and different chips for different purpose etc, and to be honest, unless you know exactly what you are doing, the chances are you will kill your Wii stone dead. Those free games aren’t so free if you keep frying the console are they?

I’m hoping that this article has educated you in the possibilities of downloading Wii roms and games.

To Burn Wii games or not to ? That’s the question. The Wii is increasing in popularity, and as such there is a huge demand for games. Even worse, games are expensive, so what happens if you scratch the disc or something? Read on to find out how to burn Wii games that you can use as a backup.

Okay now before you get into this, it’s update yourself on the copyright laws in your area. In most places, it’s legal to burn Wii games, as long as you own the original, and that the copies are for your personal use only, IE as backups. This is the most common law, but please check it out in your area all the same – there are no Wiis in jail, so you don’t really want to end up there right?

First of all, it’s not possible to do any copying or anything with the Wii itself, so you’ll need to use your computer, and you will need a specific kind of DVD Drive in order to get it working. You need one of the LG-816 series, most notably 8161b, 8162b or 8163b. There is plenty of information about these on Google, so perform a quick search if you need to, and if you are having trouble finding the drives you need to burn Wii games, check Ebay, you can usually get them there.

You need to make an image of the disc before you can burn Wii games, so in addition to the DVD drive, you will need to install some software called .net Framework 2.0, and Raw Dump 2.0

The first thing you need to do to burn Wii games is to put the game you want to burn inside your LG dvd drive. Once it’s in, open the Raw Dump file (should have been created after installation) and double click on the rawdump.exe file to get the rawdump program fired up.

Once rawdump opens, you will get a dialog box. Click the button that says Start Dump, and you will soon be ready to burn Wii games. The next part of the process is largely about patience. Due to the size of the files on a DVD, you will need to wait quite a while for the dump to finish. Waiting time will vary due to computer spec and hardware etc, but it can be anywhere between 1 hour and about 5 hours, if you have a slow computer.

Once it’s finished, you should see a new file in the rawdump folder, an ISO file, with the same name as whatever game you copied. An ISO file is simply a perfect image of what was previously on a disc. You’ll get familiar with these files if you intend to burn Wii games as a habit.

The last two parts of the process are probably the simplest thing you need to do when you burn Wii games. First of all, once the dump finishes, right click on the new file and choose Properties. What you are looking for here is the size of the file. ALL Wii game ISOs are 4.7 Gb in size, which is the same size as a blank DVD, so you can see that the image dump has picked up everything. Anything different from this and you will need to begin again, as it’s not possible to burn Wii games if the ISOs are the wrong size!

Once you have the right size, all you need to do to perform the actual burning of the Wii games is to get your preferred burning software, start a new project, and instruct it to burn the ISO image onto a brand new blank DVD. This part can be a little finicky, and if you use low quality discs you’ll find you have problems with unreadable games etc.

In order to play the Wii games that you burned, you will either need to get your Wii fitted with a modchip, or use one of several SD card modifications. Tutorials for both of these can easily be found on the net.

As you’ve seen, if you’ve an urge to burn Wii games, it can be done, but be aware of your own local laws and regulations. Check out the links below to see where you can download free games.

By: Herb Peterson

About the Author:

Are you having any kind of trouble trying to find old Nintendo games? No retail stores carry them anymore, and they are impossible to find on ebay anymore. There is a solution to this problem, download the Nintendo games.

All you need is the right emulator and the right roms to play all of your old favorites. Play all of your old favorites (Mario, Zelda, Tecmo Bowl, etc.). And you can play these games on many platforms. You can play these on your PC, on your Wii, your PSP, or your XBOX.

Just do a simple point and click, and you could be playing your new Nintendo games in a matter of minutes. It’s a hundred times faster than order the games online, and they are guaranteed to work, unlike the old cartridges, and you needed to pray they would work. Why deal with the hassle of your games not working when you can simply run the program, and start playing within two minutes.

When transporting the games to a certain format, you can use the controller of system you will be playing it on. For example, the PC supports and controller from the USB port, or the keyboard, and the game systems allow you to use their controllers with emulator you put in.

The best way to do this is, create a folder that you put all the games in, and a separate for the emulator that will play the games. Just make sure you remember where the files are because the emulator will ask you which folder you want, and where the games are. After that you can play without a problem of slowdown or resolution problems.

Just enjoy your experience, it’s easy and it’s a fun way to get the classics without all the hassle.

By: Michael Bender

About the Author:
